The Gruagach’s Lair, Stained Glass Light
70cm x 70cm (framed in black hardwood) Stained Glass Panel illuminated with LED light (2025)
This work envisioning a speculative future where hybrid beings evolve in response to ecological crisis. The Grúagach, a shapeshifting “Hairy Woman” drawn from Irish folklore, appears here in her abyssal underwater home, a sanctuary of transformation and adaptation. Through layered stained glass and luminous biomorphic forms, the piece imagines a post-human ecology where amphibious guardians emerge to protect and restore the balance between worlds.
