PUBLIC ART COMMISSION
The Night Garden Stained glass light panel 60 cm x 60 cm
Commissioned for University Hospital Waterford, Ireland
The Night Garden is designed as a quiet, supportive presence within the maternity pool room. The imagery draws from the natural rhythms of the landscape at night, where growth, rest and transformation take place beyond direct view.
Plants, water and small creatures appear in a gently shifting composition, suggesting a world that continues to unfold in its own time. The work invites a soft focus, offering something to rest the eyes on without demanding attention.
Handmade using kiln-fired painted glass, the panel is layered to create depth and a diffused light. The illumination is steady and calm, intended to support a sense of ease within the space.
The Night Garden reflects cycles of change and renewal, holding a quiet connection to the processes of birth, care and recovery.
