PUBLIC ART COMMISSION 2023
Garden of Tranquility
Leaded stained glass window by Rayleen Clancy approx 200 cm x 300cm
Commissioned for the South East Palliative Care Centre
Garden of Tranquility is designed to support a calm and restful atmosphere within the centre. The imagery draws from garden environments, where light, plant forms and slow natural rhythms offer a sense of steadiness and quiet continuity.
The composition unfolds gently across the surface, allowing the eye to move without urgency. It provides a point of focus that can be returned to, or simply remain in the background as a soft presence within the space.
Made using traditional leaded stained glass, the window responds to changing daylight throughout the day. Subtle shifts in colour and light create a quiet connection to the outside world.
The work reflects the role of the garden as a place of care, reflection and pause, offering a moment of stillness within the environment.
